It is with regret that the Lions Club of Ipswich will no longer be putting on our Sunday Car Boot Sale at Portman Road in Ipswich. 

Increasing competition from other Boot Sales during the Spring and Summer months has meant a loss of support from sellers during this time, this coupled with the increasing running costs means the Lions Club of Ipswich no long make a profit and so have decided not to renew the licence with the council.

This decision has certainly not been taken lightly, however times have changed and obviously the event cannot run at a loss.

The Boot Sale has always been run by volunteers and the profits made in the past have ALL been donated to various charities in the Ipswich area.

Lion President Mark Keable said, “Many people do not appreciate the costs involved in running the Boot Sale, contrary to belief we have to pay Ipswich Borough Council to rent the site each week and this coupled with insurance and advertising means that operating it has become uneconomic.”

The Club would like to thank people for their support over the years, we have made a huge difference to the charities and needy people of our town

Our last Boot Sale will be this Sunday 19th March 2017.
